The week started off slowly for me. I had to take an extra rest day from working out after a run because I was unusually sore. I was extra hungry so I went over my daily points allowance — not one, but two days. And I really wanted to just lay on my sofa eating ice cream. I was circling the drain, but I snapped out of it before I did something regrettable. Take THAT centrifugal force!
What stopped me? First, after the extra rest day, my run felt really good! Still not light-ning fast, but I felt light-er. Then I wore a tunic blouse that I bought on vacation in Barcelona in 2009 that I’ve never been able to fit into. Nothing motivates like new clothes — even if they aren’t “new” new. Also, (full disclosure) I ran out of ice cream and was too lazy to go get more!
In the end, I got in my 6 workouts after doubling up on Saturday, I cut 1 minute off my 5k run time and I lost weight. So it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.
